Our Deepest Fear
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
-Marianne Williamson
Maybe most introverts have fear that they recognize, and extroverts have fears that they choose to ignore and forget. I’m reading this book called Art and Fear, and you know… i think at the root of all discontentment, restlessness, sadness… there is some sort of fear.
What are we all so afraid of?

Immune System Sketch
What If by Emilie Autumn
I know you’ve got it figured out
Tell me what I am all about
And I just might learn a thing or two
Hundred about you, maybe about you
I’m the end of your telescope
I don’t change just to suit your vision
‘Cause I am bound by a fraying rope
Around my hands, tied around my handsAnd you close your eyes when I say I’m breaking free
And put your hands over both your ears
Because you cannot stand to believe I’m not
The perfect girl you thought
Well what have I got to lose? And what if I’m a weeping willow?
Laughing tears upon my pillow?
What if I’m a socialite who wants to be alone?
What if I’m a toothless leopard?
What if I’m a sheepless shepherd?
What if I’m an angel without wings to take me home? You don’t know me
Never will, never will
I’m outside your picture frame
And the glass is breaking now
You can’t see me
Never will, never will
If you’re never gonna see.-What If, Emilie Autumn

These were quickly done for a friend’s Graphic Design project. Just sketches, really.

Ashes On Your Eyes, Deb Talan
Dry your wings in the sun
You have only begun to understand
When it’s time to move on there is no one
To hold your hand.
So let go, let go, let go.Here the night is fine
The stars are sparks of steel
Chiseled in the mines of twilight
You tell me something real, say
“Don’t try, don’t try
Just remember how, remember, remember”Now you only dream in peaceful blue
The morning doesn’t even scare you anymore
You are a phoenix with your feathers still a little wet
Baby, the ashes just look pretty on your eyes.-Deb Talan, Ashes On Your Eyes
