Bandana- Gift, Bag- Gift, Jacket- Candies, Shirt- Wet Seal, Boots- Emu, Skirt- Super Low Fat, Tights- Look From London

 The bag was made by a girl named Jennifer, from Free People’s craft swap! I love it. It is made out of a sweater.

I am reading C. S. Lewis’s Till We Have Faces, and I just got to the part where Psyche incurs the wrath of the gods. I am upset about it. :( Boo!

Revolution: No more staying up late, and sleeping the majority of the day. I feel so useless when I do so.
Parade: People tell me I’m hot every day. In middle school, I was not an attractive child. WHAT NOW?

School starts tomorrow. Boo.

I’ve returned to blogging…

October 14, 2008 at 10:25 pm (Fashion, My Art)

I’ve gotten another new dress- This one is another vintage Gunne Sax from the 70s. The cat is Lucius, he belongs to my roomie, and he makes quite a reluctant, squirmy and whiney accessory.  Not very practical for carrying around all day, but definetly cute.

I’ve been pretty sick the past few weeks and insanely busy with my book illustration class, but I’m producing a lot of good work.

Value Studies

I’m Illustrating T.S. Eliot’s Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock, and so I can’t get it published bc I don’t have rights to the text or anything, but it will give me some really strong portfolio pieces.

“And indeed there will be time
For the yellow smoke that slides along the street,
Rubbing its back upon the window-panes;
There will be time, there will be time
To prepare a face to meet the faces that you meet;
There will be time to murder and create,
And time for all the works and days of hands
That lift and drop a question on your plate;
Time for you and time for me,
And time yet for a hundred indecisions,
And for a hundred visions and revisions,
Before the taking of a toast and tea.”

-T. S. Eliot

It has rained a lot and I think my little seedlings may have drowned- I came outside and found a 5 inch deep puddle of water sitting atop of their cute little leaves. Agony and woe. I’m trying to save them. I think some will make it.

I also met with my academic adviser today to find out that in Illustration, my GPA is a 4.0 and my overall GPA is a 3.8, and that means I’ll probably graduate either Magna Cum Laude or Summa Cum Laude. What whaaat. The only classes I have left are self promotion, portfolio, two free electives, one art history and one free lecture. I can’t wait to decide what electives I want to take!

Off to do more work!

Hello Fall!

September 24, 2008 at 7:00 pm (Fashion, Gardening)

It has finally gotten cooler out- and even when its 80 degrees, it still feels cool because its been so disgustingly hot here. But it was 66 out when I left for class this morning, and it definitely feels like fall. The mosquitoes are leaving and I can sit outside again! Its nice and breezy and not so humid. <3 I wish that the leaves would change colors and fall off of the trees here, but I guess that’s just how the southern coast is.

What I Wore Today
(Dress, Vintage; Shoes, Dr Martins)

I’ve had these boots for a year now and I never wear them, partially because they’re too hot for the summer, and partially because they’re terrible to break in. I’m considering running them over with my car a few times.

My Plants

I’ve been growing some plants, and they’re doing well now that I’ve moved them into the back yard. There is some basil and spinach and other things- I throw all my seeds into a big planter and let them grow as they please so I’m not sure what the little buds are yet. Some animal has been digging in the planter, though, and I think it might be my cat, but I’m not sure. I’m really annoyed about it, and I think I’m going to have to find a screen to put over it.
